You find something interesting to read online, but unwanted advertisement pop-ups can bother your experience. Similarly, loss of internet connection could also be a stumbling block for browsing through the webpage.
Luckily, you do not have to worry about such instances while reading, as you can save any webpage as a PDF and also access it anytime you want. On all browsers, you can find the Print menu for saving files. Similarly, on some, you can find the ‘export as PDF’ menu.
How to Save a Webpage as a PDF?
Whether you are using Safari, Google Chrome, or any other browser, the Print menu is the most common way to save your web page as a PDF. However, for Safari users, there are several other ways you can use it. Let’s find out each of them in detail below.
Using Safari Browser
If you are a Mac or iOS user, your default browser is Safari. You can save your webpage as a PDF on a safari through the share icon, export as PDF, and many more. We have compiled very simple steps for it below.
For Mac users, you can also directly export your webpage as a PDF on Safari. However, you can not find this menu on your iPhone. Here are the steps for it.
Navigate to your Webpage
Now, on the top menu bar, choose File
Click on Export as PDF
Provide a file name and click Save to continue
Alternatively, another simplest way to save your Safari webpage as PDF is using the Print menu. By default, when you click on this button, it will automatically set your files to PDF. So, in this method, you are not actually printing the webpage but saving it. Here are the steps for it.
On Safari, launch a website
Then, on the top menu bar, click on File
On the dialogue box, locate Pages and set it to the number of pages you want to save
Navigate to PDF at the bottom and expand the Drop-down menu
Click on Save as PDF
On the pop-up, choose a location and select Save
If you are browsing Safari on mobile, you can find the default Options menu to save your webpage as a PDF. This menu is exclusively available only on iPhone. Here are the steps for it.
Launch a website you want to save
Tap Share icon
Now, right under the website name, locate Options menu and tap on it
You can set Send As option to PDF
Once set, tap Done
You can either Copy the link, SavetoFiles, or Send it to others
Alternatively, you can also choose to save your Safari webpage as a PDF through the share menu on mobile. While sharing, you can send your file in PDF format. Find out the steps for it below.
On Safari, open your preferred website
Navigate to Share icon
Scroll down and choose Print option
Now, at the bottom, it will automatically select all pages. You can choose the number of pages you want to save. Tap to Uncheck the pages
Again, tap on Share icon at the top menu
You can Save to Files or Share it. Choose your preference.
Using Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge
If you use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, you can save a webpage as a PDF from the Print menu. Although web browsers are compatible with both PC and mobile, the steps for saving a webpage as PDF may differ with the device. You can follow the steps given below.
On your web browser, enter your preferred website
Navigate to the three-dot icon at upper-right
Now, on the print box, locate Destination. Set it to Save as PDF
On Pages, choose to set Custom, Odd, Even, or All pages
Select a Location on the Save As box.
Type in a File name and click on Save to confirm
Open web browser
Enter a website and open a Webpage
Tap on the Share iconon the top or bottom menu
You can choose to Save only the pages you prefer by unchecking them at the bottom
Tap the Share menuand Save
Launch a Website on a web browser
On Google Chrome, tap on the three-dot menu in the top-right and choose Share
On Microsoft Edge, tap Share icon at the bottom
Locate Print menu and tap on it
Now, to save only your preferred pages, Uncheck others
At the top, pick Save as PDF option
To save, tap Download PDF icon
Besides the print menu, there are other alternatives to save your webpage as PDF. For Instance, you can use a Word Doc. Similarly, iOS users can find an in-built menu to convert their screenshots to PDFs. Let’s check it out in detail below.
On iPhone, you can also take a screenshot of a selective page on a website and save it as a PDF. You can convert the image to a full-text view for a PDF file. Moreover, with this method, you can have only text files without ads or pictures by switching to reader mode on safari.
Launch a website on Safari and browse through the webpage you want to save
If you do not want Ads or pictures, navigate to the Two A menu and switch to Show Reader. You can skip this step if you want pictures on your PDF.
Now, on an iPhone with a Home button, press the Power and Home button in sync to take a screenshot.
Similarly, for iPhone without the Home button, press the Side and Volume up buttons together for screenshots.
The screenshot you took will appear at the bottom. Tap on it to Expand the photo.
Go to Full Page menu (It will automatically convert to PDF)
Choose Share icon at the top
Select Save to Files or Share with others
In case you just want to save only the webpage texts, you can use word for both PC and mobile. You can copy and paste the entire article text into a new document. Then, save it as a PDF file. Using Third-party Tools
You can also add several third-party extension tools to save the webpage as PDF on your web browser. For Instance, Adobe Acrobat, PDFShift, etc. However, we recommend you use such third party only as a last resort.
